Rocknak’s Yacht Sales is located in Rockport, Maine. The facility encompasses 12,300 sq. ft. of indoor storage and space outside for shrink-wrapped storage. Several moorings are maintained in both Camden and Rockport Harbors.
Bill Rocknak started in the boat business in 1954 working summers at the family boat yard in Lanoka, Harbor, NJ. At that time the yard was busy with new wood boats arriving from the Johnson Brothers, Clayton Skiff, Billy Kyer Flybridge Cruisers, Aluminum and Steel Chris Craft Roamers, and the very first fiberglass boats.
Later came Coronado, Catalina, Sabre, Irwin, Endeavor, American Cat Boats, CS Yachts, Grampian, Paceship, Helms, Mariner, Morgan Yachts, Columbia, Westerly, and many more. Bill is unique in the industry having been an actual participant in the history of modern production boats, providing them to several generations of boaters all the while simultaneously running a full size boatyard.
Scott Rocknak’s credentials include USCG Master’s License with Sailing and Towing Endorsements, ABYC Master Technician certifications in Diesel, Electrical, and Systems, YBAA (Yacht Broker Association of America) membership since 1980 (the youngest at time to ever join), SCUBA with PADI, NAUI, and YMCA, charter base management including a 50 boat fleet, and many other areas that do not have an acronym. He has set-up or participated in over 200 US, Canadian, and International Boat Shows, visited many boat building factories in the US, Canada, and Asia, studied the functions of dozens of boatyards, and has acquired local knowledge of US eastern seaboard, Bahamas, Caribbean, and more. Scott has been a Catamaran enthusiast since a teenager and was the second beach cat to sail to the Dry Tortugas from Florida. In the 1980’s Scott was in the first group of certified Windsurfer instructors in Maine. He is a practiced Powerboat and Sailing instructor since 1980, iceboater, homeschooling aboard teacher, and has cruised his own boat and others from Canada to the Caribbean. Scott figures that including sales, charters, shows, and service he has interacted with over 3000 boats.
Bill & Scott have represented Catalina, CS Yachts, Cape Dory, Tanzer, American, North American, C&C, C&C Landfall, Morgan, Silverton, Blue Seas, Coastal, Harbor Craft, Rampage, Patrol, Dirigo, and others including Jeanneau’s sailboat line, Wauquiez Kronos Catamarans, and Voyage Catamarans for charter and new boat sales.
Thousands of interactions later, be it new or brokerage sales, commissioning and de-commissioning, charters and training, or wide ranging service from electronics, custom work or even complete restorations, the Rocknak’s have over 100 years experience.
